Divisions

At our competitions, athletes compete alongside other athletes based on their age and gender known as the athlete’s division. Each group is split down by men’s open and women’s open and sorted by the athlete’s age based on the year of birth.

JUNIOR

Ages 7-9

YOUTH

Ages 10-13

TEENS

Ages 14-16

ADULT

Ages 17-34

MASTERS

Ages 35+

Division Information

  • Age categories are determined by birth year. The athlete’s age on January 1st determine the age category.
  • Trans and nonbinary athletes participate in one division of their choice for the entirety of the competitive season. See USPK Trans Inclusion Policy.
  • Only athletes who compete in the Adult Division are eligible for the Adults’ National Championship.
  • Athletes can decide to compete one division higher than their age range up to adults. Masters athletes can decide to compete in the Adult Division.
