2024 National Competition – Prize Money Fundraising Campaign
Thanks for supporting USPK
From the entire board of directors – a heartfelt thank you so much for choosing to support USPK!
As a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering community, education, and excellence in parkour, we are excited to announce our fundraising campaign raising money for the 2024 National Competition prize money pool.
USPK is the American governing body for parkour, dedicated to promoting and supporting the growth of parkour in the United States. Through educational resources, community events, and competitions, we aim to provide opportunities for practitioners of all levels to engage with and excel in the sport. Our vision is to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive parkour community that celebrates athleticism, creativity, and resilience.
As a volunteer-led organization, activities like these would not be possible without your support. Help us continue to forward our mission.
Building on last year’s success
Here are some of the highlights:
In 2023, USPK proudly hosted its inaugural National Competition at Apex Movement in Denver CO, a milestone event that showcased the incredible talent and passion within the American parkour community. The competition was a resounding success, thanks to the competitors, spectators, and volunteers working behind the scenes. However, it’s important to acknowledge that without the generous support of donors, we wouldn’t have been able to break even financially. Highlights included….
Establishing a national parkour competition circuit:
- Created foundational pipelines for athletes to go from the
Locals → Regionals → USPK Nationals → International Championship - Six different regions ran 25+ events, filtered into the national competition in Denver, CO
- Partnered with Sport Parkour League (SPL) as the premiere international competition circuit (16 USPK athletes qualified)
- Established an inclusive trans and nonbinary policy for competitors
At the USPK national championships:
- Over seventy unique individuals competed:
- 14 women, 22 men in speed
- 11 women, 20 men in skill
- 11 women, 21 men in style
- Improved women’s participation (USPK National = 28% women and 72% men)
Athletes and Judges Advisory Committees formed to put decision-making directly in athletes and stakeholders hands
The 2024 National Competition
This year, the competition will be held at Kiskeya Athletics in Texas, on the weekend of July 13th, 2024. Athletes will compete in speed, skill, and freestyle; demonstrating their agility, strength, and creativity on challenging courses. We continue our partnership with Sport Parkour League so that winning athletes of the national competition automatically qualify into the Parkour World Championships at SPL3.
USPK deeply values feedback and community-driven leadership. In 2024 our volunteer base will expand to include:
- Volunteer Coordinator position
- Splitting the Judges & Athletes committee into two
- Six regional coordinators (NE, SE, MD, SC, MW, WC leagues)
As we look ahead to the 2024 National Competition, we remain steadfast in our commitment to elevating the sport and providing industry-leading prize money for our athletes. We humbly ask for your assistance in making this vision a reality, ensuring that we can continue to recognize and support the remarkable athletes who embody the spirit of parkour.
Our Goal
We are seeking to raise $3000 by the end of June to provide prize money for the winning podium athletes of the 2024 National Competition. Your support will directly contribute to recognizing and rewarding the dedication and talent of these athletes, inspiring them to continue pushing the boundaries of the sport.
We invite you to join us in championing the spirit of parkour and supporting the athletes who embody its values of perseverance, creativity, and self-expression. Your partnership will not only enhance the experience of the 2024 National Competition but also contribute to the long-term success and sustainability of parkour in the United States.
Thank you for your consideration and support.
