2024 Call for Nominations
United States Parkour Association (USPK) invites eligible members to run for an elected position as a Treasurer or Independent Director on the Board of Directors. The USPK Board of Directors sets the direction of the sport across the country. Get involved today!
The nomination window opens on October 1st, 2024. Nomination criteria are listed below. Please register by filling out the Google Form. With this election, nominations will close on November 15th, 2024 and the election will begin on December 1st, 2024.
The positions below are open for nomination:
- One (1) Treasurer
- One (1) Independent Director
We are also seeking volunteer positions for:
- Athlete Committee
- Build Committee
- Certification Committee
- Finance Committee
- Judges Committee
- Marketing Committee
- Medical Committeee
United States Parkour Association Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is composed of seven members who are elected without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or physical disability. Three are Governing Directors and four are Independent Directors. The Board of Directors shall represent the interests of the parkour community for the United States Parkour Association in the United States and its athletes by providing United States Parkour Association with policy, guidance, and strategic direction. Board meetings are typically held monthly with committee and special interests calls between meetings as needed.
Eligibility Requirements
Individuals are eligible to run for leadership if they meet the below eligibility requirements:
- All eligible individuals must either have a current USPK Individual or Professional Membership or must seek to purchase membership by the starting date of elections.
Preferred Skills
- An interest and experience in sport governance and/or athlete advocacy.
- Strong communication skills.
- The ability to keep an open mind and listen to all opinions.
- Detail orientated.
Additional Eligibility Requirements
An individual is ineligible to run for election if they have:
- A felony conviction for sexual abuse or assault of any kind;
- A felony conviction for a hate crime;
- Served a period of ineligibility for a SafeSport Code violation as defined by theĀ U.S. Center for SafeSport or NGB.
An individual running for election must disclose any actual, possible, or perceived conflict of interests consistent with the USPK Conflict of Interest Policy or other applicable policies of the Governance Committee, which shall determine whether the individual is eligible to run for election. The disclosure shall be made to all eligible voters prior to the vote so that the disclosure may be considered in the voting process. Failure to disclose in advance of the election can be cause for the removal of the member once elected.

The nomination period to run for the USPK Board of Directors is open from October 1st – November 15th, 2024.

General Powers, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Guide and ensure effective communications between the Board of Directors, its members, and USPK.
- Have the authority to make decisions on behalf of USPK in accordance with the Bylaws.
- Participate in monthly leadership meetings (2-3 hours virtual)
- Committee meetings (1-8 hours virtual)
- Respond in a timely manner to peer and staff requests and questions via the USPK Slack
- Must use their USPK-assigned email communications for all USPK work and have access to an electronic device that will allow them to provide the necessary tasks of leadership including, but not limited to, use of Google Suites software, reviewing meeting minutes, accessing web, etc.
- Represent USPK in committees, working groups, task forces, etc.
- Board of Directors members may be asked to attend other meetings which are of interest for USPK, its members, and athletes in general.
Election Process and Timeline
- By October 1st. The Governance Committee shall distribute the USPK Call for Nominations process to USPK Board of Directors and members, along with the USPK Bylaws & Regulations, and make a reasonable effort to notify USPK Members who might be eligible. The process shall also be posted on the website and share via both social media and email.
- By November 1st. USPK shall perform an additional call for self-nominations from any eligible candidates. Nominations should minimally include a form submission and may include a resume or any other information pertaining to the individual’s ability to serve the mission of USPK.
- On November 15th. The Call for Nominations will close.
- By December 1st. The Governance Committee will distribute the list and materials of eligible nominees, along with their forms, disclosures, and voting instructions to the USPK Board of Directors and its Members.
- During the first quarter USPK Town Hall. The election will be conducted where top candidates with the most votes are named to the Board of Directors.
